Das Fahr•rad [dAHs • far-rod] : The Bicycle
The Fahrrad began with the idea to redesign the conventional bike frame that has persisted in our culture for centuries. It utilises a simple, streamlined design with an objective to minimise material and maintain structural strength for a lightweight frame.
Currently in progress, the Fahrrad is in iteration with attention to structural optimisation and strength retention. User functionality is also a concern during this stage as the dimensions of the frame are dissimilar to that of conventional bike frames, affecting the posture of the rider.
Future iterations will address these problems and create additions of handlebars, seats, wheels, pedals, a drive train and fork.
